Mr. S. Vishvanathan has assumed charge as Managing Director & CEO of SBI Capital Markets Ltd. from the 22nd June 2009. Prior to this he was the Chief General Manager of State Bank of India’s North Eastern operations. Mr. Vishvanathan joined SBI as a Probationary Officer in 1976 and has served the bank in several important capacities which includes an assignment in our New York Branch and stints as Regional Manager and Deputy General Manager in Delhi Circle. He has extensive experience in the domain of Treasury and Global Markets both in the Domestic as well as International Markets and has been associated with State Bank’s foray into structured products and derivatives in his capacity as General Manager (Global markets).
Mrs. Swati Desai - Managing Director
Shri S H Visweswariah - Wholetime Director.
He joined State Bank of Travancore as Probationary Officer in 1979 and has 24 years experience in the banking sector and over 4 years in Financial Services/capital market Industry. He has held various responsible positions in State Bank of Travancore such as Manager of various branches, Chief Manger( Credit ), Asst General Manager and Controller of Thrissur Region of the Bank. At present he is heading the Back Office Operations of the Company.
Dr Manoj Vaish - Independent Director
He has over 25 years of experience in the securities/financial markets. He was appointed as the first CEO of BSE with a seat on the Board of the Exchange in the year 2003. He has earlier worked in ANZ Grindlays Bank and Deutsche Bank in Investment Banking. At present he is, the President & CEO – India, of Dun & Bradstreet.
Shri R. Sridharan - non-Executive Director
He joined State Bank of India in 1972 and has over 35 years experience in the banking sector. He has held various responsible positions in State Bank of India such as Executive Vice President – Sate Bank of India, Tokyo Branch, Regional Head – Corporate Accounts Group, SBI, Ahmedabad, General Manager – Treasury, SBI, Mumbai, Chief General Manager – Bangalore (Karnataka Circle). Has also held assignments in the State Bank of India's International Division as also at its Frankfurt Branch. He has also served as Advisor to the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, New Delhi. At present he is also the Dy. Managing Director and Group Executive (Subsidiaries.
Smt. Bharati Rao - non-Executive Director
With a Master’s degree in Economics, Smt. Rao has been the quintessential banker since August 1972. Her 35 years in the Bank have seen a range of assignments both in India and abroad in areas like Commercial Banking, Project Finance, and International Banking. She has had stints as Manager- Business Development, Singapore, Deputy General Manager- Overseas Branch, Bangalore, General Manager- Project Finance SBU, Mumbai, Chief General Manager- International Banking Group, Foreign Offices, Mumbai, Dy. Managing Director & Group Executive (International Banking), Corporate Centre, Mumbai and Dy. Managing Director & Chief Credit Officer, Corporate Centre, Mumbai. At present she is also the Dy. Managing Director and Group Executive (Associate Banks).
Shri M.K. Nag - non-Executive Director
With a Master’s degree in Economics, Shri Nag has been the quintessential banker since August 1974. His 34 years in the Bank have seen a range of assignments in areas like Retail, Commercial and Merchant Banking. He has held various responsible positions in State Bank of India such as General Manager – Network – I, New Delhi, Deputy General Manager – IBG, Merchant Banking, Mumbai, Deputy General Manager – Foreign Department, Kolkata. At present he is Executive Vice President of SBI Capital Markets Limited, the Holding Company.
